Job Overview: 

The World Surf League is seeking a chief manager of YouTube publishing and video management to own and optimize the platform in partnership with the Digital, Marketing and Partnership teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with a deep, demonstrated understanding of the YouTube community, who has a feel for the WSL brand and a passion for trends and topics that matter to its audience. The ideal candidate is self-driven and has the ability to think both creatively and analytically. This is a full-time, exempt position, reporting to the SVP, Digital.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement daily publishing calendar to YouTube platform
  • Identify and Implement YouTube best practices
  • Identify and implement SEO and social best practices
  • Coordinate growth strategy within YouTube and related social channels to support the goals of Digital and Marketing.
  • Update digital video data—in real time.
  • Provide leadership on the creation of new workflows tied to original digital video
  • Research and book YouTube’s rising and existing stars for collaborations, content creation, and marketing swaps
  • Network and grow relationships with YouTube talent management teams and MCNs
  • Find up-and-coming and influential YouTubers ahead of the competition
  • Work with PS audience development to negotiate marketing exchanges with talent

Requirements:

  • YouTube Certified
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (6) years’ work experience in social marketing, SEO or content production
  • Successful track record managing single or multiple YouTube channels
  • Expertise with YouTube Analytics (YTA)
  • Expertise with YouTube CMS
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • The ability to interact well with a diverse group of technical and non-tech people
  • The ability to quickly optimize a piece of content or creative for use in multiple channels in various formats
  • 2+ years’ experience in the communications industry, preferably Internet and/or broadcast media.
  • 2+ years’ experience handling branded content/native advertising within digital/social channels
